7 St Peter's Street
This claims to being one of the prettiest streets in town. The Bunch of Grapes dates from the 16th century and has been run by the Pink family for 4 generations. The last house of the right before the churchyard, Hope House, was once a young ladies school. There is a story that a French Officer, a Napoleonic prisoner of war, dropped a letter over the wall addressed to one of the ladies. The resulting scandal led to the closure of the school. The church dates from the 12 century . Information about the church can be found inside.
Follow the path by the wall through the church yard and into the alleyway into Bank street.
Turn right heading back to the centre of the town until you reach Bank House.
