Cosmic Christmas
Santa’s back in the Planetarium at Winchester Science Centre this festive season! On weekends and during the school holidays between Saturday 14 and Monday 23 December families are invited to blast into Cosmic Christmas, a live-action immersive space adventure where theatrical performance, magical effects and an out-of-this-world Planetarium journey through space will bring an original Christmas tale to life. Children will receive a special Christmas gift and there’ll be time to meet Santa to snap a festive selfie. Families will be sure to make memories this Christmas that will propel them to the stars and back! And, on Monday 23 December, a British Sign Language interpreter will be signing during the 2.30pm show.
Space Station Science
And that’s not all. Families visiting for Cosmic Christmas will also get to experience all the fun of Space Station Science as part of their general admission ticket. Astronauts in training will be put through their paces as they learn what it takes to live and work in space. In live science show, Blast Off, audiences will be wowed by explosive combustion experiments that explore how shuttles launch into the stars. In the Satellite Station, space cadets will learn how to build and maintain satellites like they do on the International Space Station. And in the Space Garage the space crew will get hands-on with real moon rock and find out all about the objects that are floating around in space right now!
