Discover Winchester
Discover Winchester is a consortium of private business and public agencies with an interest in the development and promotion of tourism in the Winchester district. It was established over 20 years ago in order to raise the national profile of the city and surroundings.
Liz Lean PR (LLPR) are the PR partner for Discover Winchester. LLPR is delivering a strategic communications strategy for the consortium to engage with target audiences through editorial coverage. The agency will promote the city as a vibrant and cultured destination for families, couples, and groups.

Winchester took the top spot in The New York Times favourite 'Places to Go in 2025'. No.1 in this year's list of 52 destinations, The New York Times calls all Jane Austen fans to celebrate the 250th anniversary of her birth by visiting 'Jane Austen's England', recommending an itinerary that takes in Winchester, Winchester College, Winchester Cathedral, Jane Austen's House, her birthplace in Steventon and other locations across the southwest, including Southampton and Bath.
Winchester's Jane Austen 250 celebrations also featured on BBC Breakfast. The feature included: a sneak preview of Jane Austen artefacts from Hampshire Cultural Trust, Winchester College's Keeper of Collections talking about the opening of No.8 College Street, the house where she spent the last weeks of her life and a visit to Winchester Cathedral to learn about the legacy of her work and see her final resting place.
